Well, here we are at the beginning of March and Spring Student Performances are just weeks away.  If you’re like me, you may find yourself with a few students playing the same music.  That makes teaching a little easier, but it becomes an issue when it’s time to plan a performance opportunity.

I counter this issue by making a chart of all of my students and the songs they play best.  Then I start zooming in on duplications.  When it comes to a performance, duplications complicate the program.  My students still talk about the holiday performance a couple of years ago when five different people played “Jingle Bells.”  While it is amusing to remember, it certainly dampens the memories of individual performance.

So, what’s the solutions?  Supplemental material!  I just happen to have a good choice of beginner and elementary level pieces to choose from right now.  You can purchase them in our online shop and download them today.
